I think Death. Death metal is just so awesome and i dont like black metal

This is such hard question for me. Death Metal has been my favourite for many years, and I struggled to get into Black, but over the last six months I've really gotten into Black Metal............................................W hat the hell I'll say Black....Immortal, Enslaved, Anaal Nathrakh.......just a load of awesome bands to listen to.......Death Metal barring a few bands like Death and Psycroptic sounds a bit stale to me now.

Death. Black is really gimmicky.

It can be, but there are some brilliant, serious bands out there.....Enslaved don't do the whole corpse paint or any other BM stereotypes for that matter and they're awesome. Even some of the bands with gimmicks are brilliant. Immortal are pretty much without peer and create some unbelievably good music.

Black, without a doubt.

Both can be really excellent. I do like several bands in each genre.
But if I consider the cds I receive for reviews, there's a lot of really crappy black metal acts, at least more than death metal ones.
So I'll say death.

I like Death more. Black metal is something I could never get into.

That's a hard choice for me.I've been a fan of Death Metal longer but it seems like most of these New death metal bands really suck.I really love old Death metal but these new Black metal bands have more to offer these days.I'm not going to choose right now.Aura Noir is really cool too but it seems like a Thrash/Black metal mix.I'd probably vote for Black metal but my roots are in Death.

Black Metal.

There are terrific Death Metal bands like Death, but 99% of Death Metal bands sound exactly the same to me. And I'm not saying there aren't a lot of generic Black Metal bands, but there are far less generic Black Metal bands than generic Death Metal bands in my opinion.

I totally agree, death metal doesn't have enough variation for me and I suppose melodeath is completely out of question here. Black metal is actually the only form of extreme metal that still fascinates me.
