Thats right you read it properly slayer is overrated.

Most of their songs are boring, or good but not great.

I really hate their spontaneous solos. They just pop out of nowhere with no warning or build up. That makes them sound really bad and it shows poor songwriting skills.

What do you think?

PS. I know im going to get many "metallica is way overrated" comments and i agree to a certain extent so i dont wanna hear about it. Bitch about that in the "I hate metallica thread".

Slayer kicks ass all over the place. I love the ear searing solo's that pop up out of nowhere when you least expect it and melt your fucking brain.Hell Awaits is one of the best Metal albums of all time.It still blows away most of the shit passing for metal these days.

i love slayer. i never really listen to them anymore but their entire discography is pretty much essential. except for undisputed attitude

Slayer are the fore-fathers of death metal, and one of the pioneers of extreme metal period. Many death metal bands cite Slayer as an influence.

Now how would that make them one of "the worst bands ever"?

So just being an influence automatically makes a band good?
