Lol - spot on. I actually had a conversation with some 14 year old kid who was listening to Machine Head the other day who told me they where the heaviest band ever. I had my iPod with me and played him Towering Flesh by Pig Destroyer - the look on his face was priceless.

I can think of worse music to rag on.At least mallcore is a form of metal.So if some kids listen to that it's still better than rap shit or pop music. At least they have a chance.

Albeit a cheap imitation it still gives kids a chance to get into the real stuff.

But yeah, you're right that it gives them the chance to get into metal. It's just that they won't take advantage of it because they're posers, that only wants to seem cool and special, and thinks mallcore is the real deal, and so they give other people the same impression. At least that's how I see it.

Even if mallcore was a part of metal, it's a ridiculous excuse for saying it's better than something else. Mallcore is only a crappy imitation of something it can't be, which in my book is on a step lower than rap because rap doesn't pretend to be metal. Neither does pop music, which can be good shit when done right.
