Smoking takes a while to kill you. Sticking your nose in someone elses buisiness can take you out today. On the other hand, I don't want to smell that shit in my house or when I eat. I don't smoke, but I mind my own business.

Before I had a baby I used to not see any reason why people cant smoke in restaurants, bars and cafes. Afterall those places are for eating, drinking and smoking I thought.

When I was pregnant cigarette smoke used to make me feel sick. And there was the added concern that it was not good for the baby. It made going to bars impossible and even sitting in the non smoking parts of restaruants and cafes did not give me an entirely smoke free environment with the smoking areas just a couple of meters away.
I dont know how working pregnant women coped in the days when there was an ashtray on every desk in offices.
Then after the baby was born, where could I sit down to have a coffee while shopping with people smoking in every cafe.....

Even though I am a smoker I agree that smoking should be banned in all public places where children(even unborn ones) might be. I dont think we have a right to impose our health risks on them.

But it is a bit weird not being able to smoke in late night clubs. What is the point of such a ban? Would people who are so health consious that they want to be in a smoke free environment be up all night partying?

In the clubs the waitresses breathing that shit was an issue. At least here in CA. Most smokers I know don't care about the restarunt and club thing. But when they do go outside, or make an obvious effort not to bother others, fuckin let'm be. If you want to slowly kill yourself I don't give a fuck.

i smoke cigars whenever i have some spare cash, but i have a baby brother, so i only smoke outside. whenever we're at a restaurant and someone's puffing away like a chimney, i tell them to stop. i used to light up all the time but i stopped when my mom was pregnant.

Inside buildings that aren't bars, yes, I think it should be banned. That's the law here in Tennessee and I think it's alright. I smoke, but I know it has to suck being inside a restaurant or something with a lot of smoke.

That's truly a nice law.Here in Germany it's forbidden to smoke in official facilities,since january.
In my opinion,places like restaurants,bars etc. should do their own decision about
the permission to smoke.

I think they do make that decision here in Germany.
People can smoke at the metal bar I go to, if they become members. Membership is free and easy to get but to be a member one has to sign a paper saying that one agrees to put up with the smoke.
